IPDIALOG, INC. TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO
WIDESPREAD ADOPTION OF VOIP TECHNOLOGY

Company to Provide Low Cost of Entry VoIP Telephony Solutions
with First Product Rollout this Month

April 2, 2002, San Jose, Calif. – Taking a practical approach to building critical mass for the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) market, ipDialog™, Inc., will use its core VoIP technology to supply low cost-of-entry VoIP equipment to encourage rapid adoption. The company will exhibit its first product at VON® Conference in Seattle,Wash., next week.

In a market characterized by a multitude of proposed standards and elegant products that far exceed the needs and comfort level of most enterprise users today, ipDialog proposes simple solutions that maintain the look and feel of legacy phone systems, yet offer the cost-saving benefits of Internet telephony.

Using its robust, standards-compliant and proven interoperable design, ipDialog’s mission is to provide the products, technology, and price points necessary for rapid deployment.

"We have watched too many communications markets languish because of the initial high cost of deployment," said ipDialog CEO, Hardish Singh. "VoIP offers telecommunications cost savings along with expanded features capabilities by converging voice and data into a single network to reduce access charges, but the market has been laboring under the tyranny of expensive phone systems that are too far removed from the functionality of today’s standard PBX systems to achieve rapid end-user acceptance."

Noting that many of the major PBX and switch vendors in the VoIP industry have been scaling down the "Cadillac" designs of their equipment, Singh said, "The problem is not the lack of market interest, but the approach to the market. We have talked to a number of large solutions providers, and they are attracted by our innovative and simple approach to VoIP. ipDialog’s strategy is to build a broad user base by providing inexpensive and accessible VoIP equipment, and then offer upgrades to more exotic applications as the market is ready for them."

CommWorks Corp., a 3Com Company and one of the world’s leading providers of carrier-class IP telephony equipment and softswitches, is collaborating with ipDialog to deliver all IP-based networking solutions to telecommunications service providers and their customers.

"ipDialog has a solid core technology that will enable us to build a strong relationship. We see ipDialog as providing vital components that can be incorporated in our IP-based networking solutions for service providers," said Caroline Chen, Director, CommWorks Community of Partners.

Packet voice solution provider Sonus Networks, Inc., Westford, Mass., has also partnered with ipDialog to offer integrated solutions using ipDialog products.
